What a Hollywood smile is
The term describes the outcome — a bright, even, well-proportioned smile — rather than one technique. Achieving it means correcting, across the teeth that show:
- colour and discolouration;
- chips, wear and uneven edges;
- gaps and minor crowding;
- tooth shape and proportion;
- the overall smile line.
Because every mouth starts in a different place, every Hollywood smile is a different combination of treatments. That is why it must be designed, not ordered.
How many teeth are involved
There is no fixed number. What matters is your smile line — how many teeth are visible when you smile and talk.
- A focused makeover may cover the 8–10 upper front teeth.
- A fuller result covers 16–20 teeth across the upper and lower arches so the smile is even from every angle.
We work out the number from your photographs and your goals, and we plan the smallest number of teeth that delivers an even, natural result. Treating teeth that do not show, or do not need treatment, is not part of an honest plan.
Digital smile design
Before any tooth is touched, we build a digital smile design — a visual preview of the proposed result on your own photographs. You see the proposed shade, tooth shape and proportions, and you adjust them with the dentist until the design genuinely suits your face.
This matters for two reasons: you make an informed decision before treatment, and the laboratory works to an agreed target rather than a guess.
Veneers or crowns — tooth by tooth

- healthy teeth that only need a cosmetic change receive veneers, with minimal enamel removed — the American Dental Association describes a veneer as a thin shell bonded to the front of the tooth;
- teeth that are genuinely broken down, worn through or root-treated receive crowns;
- missing teeth are replaced with implants — not bridged by grinding their neighbours.
The “Turkey teeth” reputation comes from clinics that skipped this step and crowned every tooth regardless. We plan each tooth on its own merits and write the plan down before you agree to it.
The process
A smile makeover is completed in one visit of 5–7 days:
- Days 1–2 — design and preparation. Examination, photographs, digital smile design, and an honest plan agreed in writing. Teeth are prepared conservatively — veneers prepped as veneers, crowns only where needed — and impressions or a digital scan are taken. Natural-looking temporaries are fitted.
- Days 3–5 — laboratory. Your restorations are crafted to the approved design.
- Days 5–7 — fitting. Each restoration is tried in, the shade and shape confirmed with you, then bonded or cemented. The bite is balanced and your clinical report finalised.
If any teeth are missing and implants are part of the plan, the implant stage adds a separate 3–6 month healing period before the final restorations — we will set that out clearly at planning.
Natural vs “too white”
A smile makeover should make you look like a healthier version of yourself — not like you are wearing a set of identical, oversized, blinding-white tiles. That uniform, over-white look is exactly what the “Turkey teeth” reputation is built on — and avoiding it is a planning decision, not just a shade choice.
Our design philosophy is age-appropriate and natural: a shade that is bright but believable, tooth shapes with real character and slight individuality, proportions that match your face. You approve the shade and shape at the digital preview and again at try-in, before anything is permanently fixed.
Safety & standards
A smile makeover is permanent clinical work and deserves the same scrutiny as treatment at home. The clinics we work with operate in a licensed, hospital-grade facility, use sterile single-use instruments, and are staffed by experienced dentists — your treatment is planned and carried out by a dentist, never by sales staff. Problems in well-planned cases are rare, but we plan for them: you leave with a written clinical report so any dentist can continue your care, a direct line to the coordination team, and clear aftercare. In the rare case something needs attention after you fly home, we review it openly with the treating dentist.
