Turkey’s price advantage is real, but it comes from lower operating costs and heavy competition — not from cutting corners on the operation itself. The questions below cover what a package actually includes, why a fixed price beats a per-graft meter, and when money changes hands. If a quote you have been given elsewhere is vague about any of this, that vagueness is itself the answer.
How much does a hair transplant in Turkey cost?
Our 2026 packages start from €1,900 for beard and €2,200 for Sapphire FUE, all-inclusive: 4-night hotel, VIP transfers, translator, medication, PRP and aftercare. Final price depends on graft count, agreed in your free consultation.
What is included in the package price?
Every package is all-inclusive: the procedure itself, a 3–4 night hotel stay, VIP airport and clinic transfers, a translator, all post-operative medication, the first wash, a PRP session and your aftercare kit. The only thing not included is your flight.

Why is a hair transplant in Turkey cheaper than in the UK, US or Europe?
Lower clinic overheads, lower staff costs and a favourable exchange rate let Turkish clinics charge a fraction of UK, US or Western European prices — without cutting medical standards. You pay less for the same surgery, not for a lesser one.
Is the price per graft or a fixed package?
We quote a fixed all-inclusive package, not a per-graft rate. Per-graft pricing can balloon on the day if the count is revised upward — a fixed package agreed in advance protects you from that.
How and when do I pay?
A small deposit secures your date; the balance is settled at the clinic before the procedure. We accept major cards and bank transfer, and confirm the accepted methods when you book.

Most patients arrive having read a great deal about techniques and still unsure which one applies to them — which is the correct place to be. FUE, Sapphire FUE and DHI are not a quality ladder; they suit different donor densities, coverage areas and ways of wearing your hair. These answers explain what actually separates them, and what the surgery day looks like from arrival to discharge.
What is the difference between FUE, DHI and Sapphire FUE?
FUE extracts follicles one by one and implants them into pre-opened channels. Sapphire FUE uses sapphire blades to open finer, more precise channels. DHI uses a Choi implanter pen to extract and place in one step, without pre-opening channels — strong for density and angle control.
Which technique is right for me?
The right technique depends on your donor area, the size of the zone being treated and whether you want to avoid shaving. The surgeon recommends it after reviewing your photos — you are not sold a technique before your case is assessed.
How long does the operation take?
Most procedures take 6–8 hours, including the consultation, local anaesthesia, extraction, channel opening and implantation, with short breaks. Larger graft counts take longer.

Is a hair transplant painful?
The procedure is done under local anaesthesia, so you do not feel the extraction or implantation. The only discomfort is the initial anaesthetic injection, which lasts seconds. Mild soreness in the following days is managed with prescribed painkillers.

How many grafts will I need?
Most patients need between 2,000 and 4,500 grafts depending on the size of the balding area and donor capacity. The surgeon estimates your count from your photos before you travel — we plan to the count we quote, not above it.

Can I have a hair transplant without shaving my head?
Yes. An unshaven hair transplant places grafts into the recipient area without shaving your existing hair, so you can return to social life immediately. It suits smaller sessions; very large sessions may still need a partial or full shave.

Recovery & Aftercare
The first month is the part patients are least prepared for, mostly because transplanted hair sheds between weeks two and six and it looks as though the procedure has failed. It has not — that shedding is an expected stage. Below is the honest sequence: when the first wash happens, when you can go back to work, and which parts of aftercare genuinely affect the result.
Is it normal for transplanted hair to fall out?
Yes — transplanted hairs shed within the first 2–6 weeks. This "shock loss" is expected and not a failure; the follicle stays alive under the skin and pushes out new hair from around month three.

When can I go back to work?
Most patients return to a desk job within 3–5 days. The donor area scabs heal within about a week, and crusts in the recipient area fall away by days 10–14. Physically demanding or public-facing work may need a little longer.

When is the first wash and how is it done?
The first wash is done at the clinic on day 2, and we show you exactly how to repeat it at home. For the first 10–14 days you wash gently with a special lotion and shampoo to soften and remove the crusts without disturbing the grafts.

Will the procedure leave a scar?
FUE and DHI extract follicles one by one with a micro-punch — no linear strip scar. Tiny dot scars in the donor area heal in a week and are invisible at hair length above 2 mm.

What aftercare do I need to follow?
For the first two weeks you avoid sweating, direct sun, hats, swimming, alcohol and sleeping face-down. We send you a written schedule and stay reachable on WhatsApp throughout — most restrictions lift after the second week.

Hair transplant timelines are slow enough that patience is part of the treatment. New growth starts around month three, the shape is clearly visible by month six, and final density arrives between months twelve and eighteen. When will I see the final result?
Shock-loss in weeks 2–6 is normal. New hair starts at month 3, becomes visible around month 6, and the final density settles at month 12.

What is the graft survival rate?

Will I need a second session?
Most patients reach their goal in a single session. A second session is only needed for very extensive hair loss, or later if non-transplanted native hair keeps thinning. We tell you honestly during the consultation if one session will not be enough.

How long do I need to stay in Istanbul?
3 nights is enough for most procedures. Day 1: consultation, blood work, operation. Day 2: first wash, instructions. Day 3: optional PRP and discharge. We organise transfers and hotel.

Do you arrange the hotel and transfers?
Yes. Your package includes VIP pick-up from Istanbul airport, all clinic and hotel transfers, and a 3–4 night hotel stay. A translator is with you for the consultation, surgery briefing and aftercare. You only arrange your flight.

Can I fly home straight after the procedure?
We recommend staying for the day-2 first wash before flying home, so a 3-night trip is ideal. Flying itself does not harm the grafts; the reason to stay is the wash and final check, not the flight.

When is the best time of year to come?
There is no bad season — the clinic and hotel are climate-controlled. Many patients prefer cooler months because avoiding heat and sweat is easier in the first two weeks, but a summer trip is fine with normal sun precautions.

Safety in medical travel is decided by the facility and the team, not by the country on the itinerary. Is a hair transplant in Turkey safe?
A hair transplant is a low-risk outpatient procedure when performed by a qualified medical team in a licensed hospital. Risk comes from unregulated, high-volume operations — so the clinic, not the country, is what to assess. Ours runs from a Ministry of Health A-class licensed hospital with surgeon-led planning.
Does a surgeon or a technician perform the procedure?
Every case is planned and supervised by the surgeon directly — donor assessment, hairline design and graft count are medical decisions, not technician decisions. Trained technicians assist with extraction and implantation under continuous surgeon oversight, not as an unsupervised production line.
Where is the clinic located?
We operate from a Ministry of Health A-class licensed hospital in Şişli, central Istanbul. Patients are picked up from Istanbul airport (IST) — transfers, hotel and translator are all coordinated by our team.

Am I a good candidate for a hair transplant?
Good candidates have stable hair loss and a healthy donor area at the back of the head. Age, the pattern and stage of loss, and donor density all matter. The surgeon confirms suitability from your photos — and will tell you if a transplant is not yet advisable.
Can women have a hair transplant?
Yes. Women can have hair transplants for a receding or uneven hairline, a thinning crown, or to reframe the face. The technique is adapted so existing hair usually does not need full shaving — discretion is built into the female procedure.

Is there a minimum or maximum age?
There is no strict maximum age — general health matters more than age. We are cautious with patients under about 25, because hair loss is often still progressing, and transplanting too early can give an unnatural result as native hair keeps thinning.
