The honest part first. For at least a month after a transplant the scalp must stay out of the sea, the pool, the sauna and direct sun. That rule does not change because you are on holiday. It decides where in your holiday the surgery goes — and the answer is the end.

How a hair transplant in Izmir is organised

Alpha Clinic Turkey is a health tourism agency, established in 2012 and registered with TÜRSAB. We do not own a clinic; we organise your procedure at an accredited partner hospital — a Ministry of Health A-class licensed hospital, the same standard as our Istanbul partner (how we choose and verify partner facilities) — and coordinate everything around it: surgeon review of your photos, scheduling, transfers, medication, aftercare and 12 months of follow-up. Where it fits in your holiday

Put the surgery in the last two days of your stay:

• Operation day — six to eight hours at the hospital, then back to your hotel with the donor area bandaged and a small bag of medication. You sleep semi-upright that night.
• The day after — the check-up and the first medicated wash at the hospital. A nurse shows you the technique you will repeat at home. The donor bandage comes off.
• Departure — the day after the check-up, 36 to 48 hours after surgery. Flying with a swollen forehead is normal and safe; swelling peaks around day three.

A seven-night holiday therefore looks like five ordinary days — keep the scalp out of the sun, because a burnt or heavily tanned scalp can postpone surgery — then the procedure. The day-by-day planning guide lays the whole week out.

Placing the surgery at the start of the holiday is the mistake to avoid: you would spend the remaining days in the shade, out of the water, with a scalp you cannot cover until about day ten.

What happens after surgery — in Izmir

The recovery is the same as anywhere; the setting is not. These are the rules from our recovery timeline, read through an Aegean lens:

• Sea, pool, sauna, sunbathing: wait at least a month. This is the rule that shapes the whole plan.
• Direct sun on the scalp: none. Shade, umbrellas and indoor time until you can wear a loose, clean cap from about day 10.
• Alcohol and smoking: at least the first one to two weeks without. On an all-inclusive holiday this is the one people underestimate.
• Sweating and exercise: light walking is fine after a couple of days; anything that raises your pulse waits about two weeks.
• Sleep: semi-upright, head on a travel pillow, for the first few nights.
• Work: office jobs typically resume within four to seven days; physical work waits the full two weeks.

Your coordinator remains reachable for the full 12 months of follow-up, reviewing photos at set milestones — from Izmir and from home.

Transfers and logistics

We collect from every resort area — Çeşme, Alaçatı, Ilıca, Foça, Seferihisar–Sığacık, Kuşadası and Selçuk — for the operation day and the check-up. Çeşme and Kuşadası are each roughly an hour from the hospital, so those two days start earlier than the rest of the week. İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) has year-round direct flights from many European cities, with far more choice in season.

If you would rather stay near the hospital for the surgery days, we can arrange that; as a TÜRSAB-registered agency we can also book accommodation. It is a convenience, not a condition — you can stay in the hotel you already have.

When to come

• October to May — the comfortable window. Cooler air, less sweating, no pressure to be on the beach.
• September and October — the “velvet season”: the sea is still warm, the air is not. The holiday and the healing both work.
• Winter breaks — mild days, and nothing lost by staying out of the sea.
• July and August — possible, but the first week demands strict shade and an air-conditioned room. The meltem wind takes the edge off an Aegean afternoon; it does not take the sun off your scalp. If you have a choice, choose another month.

What it costs

Izmir or Istanbul?

Same surgery, same package, same price. Istanbul is the larger hub, with more partner options and more direct flights; Izmir is for patients who are coming anyway. If you are not sure which suits you, say so in your first message — your coordinator will walk through both before anything is booked.
