The hair restoration we arrange in Istanbul is built around a single principle: the technique is chosen for the patient, not the other way around. Your hairline shape, donor density, lifestyle constraints and recovery preferences all feed into one decision — and that decision is made in your consultation with the surgeon at the partner clinic.
Why do patients come to Istanbul for a hair transplant?
Istanbul has become the global capital of hair transplant care for three reasons that compound rather than substitute: (1) a generation of surgeons who have performed tens of thousands of cases each, (2) operating-room infrastructure rated A-class and licensed by Turkey’s Ministry of Health, and (3) all-inclusive packages — surgery, hotel, transfers, aftercare — at a fraction of UK or US pricing without any compromise on technique or hospital grade.
Alpha Clinic Turkey is a health-tourism agency based in Şişli, central Istanbul. We plan each case and arrange treatment at accredited partner clinics that meet full surgical-theatre standards, and we have done so for patients from 70+ countries since 2012. Our coordination team speaks English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Arabic, Turkish and Russian full-time. The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) — the leading global body for hair restoration — sets the clinical standards our partner surgeons are trained against; our guide to whether a hair transplant in Turkey is safe explains what we check before a clinic joins the network.
How is the technique chosen?
The three modern techniques — FUE, Sapphire FUE and DHI — share the same extraction step and differ only in how the recipient channels are opened and the grafts placed; the method cards and compare table below set out those trade-offs. What matters here is how the choice is made: from your photos and your donor area. A receding hairline on a patient who keeps their hair long points to DHI; extensive loss across the front and crown points to Sapphire FUE; a large case where a shave is acceptable often points to classic FUE; and two techniques are sometimes combined in one plan. The surgeon at the partner clinic proposes the technique with the design, and you approve both before anything is booked. Our guide to FUE versus DHI goes deeper.
How much does a hair transplant in Istanbul cost?
Every procedure we arrange is one fixed, all-inclusive figure agreed before you fly — surgery, hotel, transfers, interpreter, medication, PRP and 12 months of follow-up. Packages start from around €1,900 for FUE, €2,200 for Sapphire FUE and €2,500 for DHI, and rise in steps with graft count rather than per graft. Flights are not included — you book those yourself, and everything from the arrivals hall onwards sits inside the figure. There is no separate agency fee added on the day: the number in your written plan is the number you pay. The hair transplant cost guide shows the full graft-band table, what each band typically covers and how Istanbul compares with the UK, the US and Germany; the package guide itemises exactly what sits inside the all-inclusive figure.
How long does the trip take, and what happens when?
Three nights in Istanbul is enough for most cases. Day one is consultation, blood work and the operation; day two the first medical wash and post-op instructions; day three an optional PRP session and discharge, with private transfers on every leg. The hair transplant procedure page walks through surgery day, and the week-by-week recovery timeline covers the first month at home.
Results follow a predictable schedule: the transplanted hairs shed in weeks two to six, new growth starts around month three, the shape is clear by month six and the final density settles at around twelve months — up to eighteen for the slower-growing crown. The month-by-month results guide and the crown timeline show what is normal at each stage.
Who else do we organise hair restoration for?
The procedure pages below cover the specialised contexts: unshaven transplants for patients who cannot show a shaved head, female hair transplants with a no-shave protocol, eyebrow restoration, beard and mustache reconstruction, and hairline design for transgender and non-binary patients — feminine or masculine, or to no template at all. Whatever the case, the first step is the same: send photos through the free consultation, and the surgeon at the partner clinic returns a plan, a graft estimate and one fixed quote.
